In TaikaTilaus Oy's recent webinar, we discussed the latest trends in the media industry and the new features in our system. Our team introduced tools and functions that provide cost-effective distribution solutions, improve customer communication, and support data-based decision-making. Here are the key highlights. You can find the full webinar recording at the end of this post.

Flexible Distribution Process

The new "Pick-Up Bundle" feature adds flexibility to newspaper distribution. Subscribers no longer need to receive their papers directly at home but can instead pick them up from predetermined locations, such as the newspaper's office. You can now create a pick-up bundle by adding one to the system settings, improving the service’s adaptability to different needs.

Alternatives to Posti

Developing alternative distribution solutions has become increasingly important as postal rates continue to rise. TaikaTilaus has strengthened its partnerships with several early distribution companies across different regions to find cost-effective ways to manage distribution. We are already collaborating with four alternative distribution companies. Discussions are ongoing with regional distribution companies, and we are continuously exploring new ways to optimize distribution costs and ensure papers reach subscribers efficiently.

Enhancing Digital Distribution with Paywalls

The rise in postal rates has also encouraged us to develop digital distribution solutions, including a comprehensive paywall system. This tool allows media companies to protect their content and generate new revenue streams through digital subscriptions. The system integrates seamlessly with content management systems and provides real-time analytics on user engagement.

E-Papers with Lehtiluukku

Lehtiluukku is a simple and cost-effective way to offer digital replicas of print newspapers. It allows subscribers to log in and read the newspaper digitally, with daily subscriber data automatically synchronized between our system and Lehtiluukku. Currently, Lehtiluukku is the primary e-paper solution for TaikaTilaus, and many of our customers already use it.

Another potential option is Textalk Prenly, the market leader for e-paper solutions in Sweden. While Prenly is not yet fully integrated with our system, we will soon start a pilot project with one of our customers and are preparing for full integration. This will offer an additional option in the future for customers looking for e-paper alternatives to Lehtiluukku.

WhatsApp Channels: A New Way to Engage Readers

WhatsApp Channels are an excellent way to reach subscribers through one-way communication. Our Product Specialist, Siiri Lassila, demonstrated how these channels can drive more traffic to your site and enhance interaction with subscribers. Through these channels, media can share updates, articles, and offers directly to subscribers, who can react with emojis. Setting up Channels is easy, and they offer strong privacy protection for users.

New Features in Invoicing

In the webinar, we also introduced new TaikaTilaus features that enhance invoicing management:

  • Invoice Language Selection: You can now select the invoice language directly from the customer's settings. This feature supports smoother international ad sales, as invoices can be sent in Finnish, English, Swedish, or Spanish, according to the customer's needs.

  • Invoice Status Tracking: It is now possible to view the status of invoices in more detail directly from customer information. Users can easily see whether an invoice is open, overdue, or in the reminder phase, which helps to monitor the payment process more effectively.

Simplified Ad Creation with the New Tool

We also introduced a new classified ad tool, which is the first step toward developing our Advertising Portal service. This tool supports classified ads such as sales listings and personal announcements. Users can design, preview, and create a print-ready PDF that can be published directly in the newspaper. The tool calculates the price based on width and height, providing customers with more flexibility and reducing the time and costs associated with ad creation.

Utilizing Reports in Marketing

We remind our customers about the valuable reporting tools available for more effective data utilization. Users can create customized reports on active subscriptions and monitor lapsed subscriptions through various reports. These tools help our customers target their marketing efforts and improve their sales strategies. We continue to develop new reports based on customer requests.

Future Plans

TaikaTilaus's ongoing development efforts are designed to meet the changing needs of media companies and their audiences. Our goal is to facilitate digital distribution, explore new ways to engage readers, and offer even better analytics tools. We encourage you to explore these features in our system and provide feedback to support our development efforts.

Please follow our release notes and contact our support team if you have any questions or comments. Thank you to everyone who participated in the webinar—your questions and feedback are invaluable as we continue to develop our services.
